Murray was raised on his family’s cattle property near Esk in Qld. After his schooling and Arts degree in Sydney, Murray worked with CALM prior to a career spanning 30 years in commercial property across Asia Pacific and Middle East. Murray lived with his wife and two daughters (arriving along the way!) in four Australian capital cities and Indonesia, Hong Kong, South Korea and Dubai. Murray returned with his family to Sydney in 2015 to join a small commercial property business. Currently, Murray is on the Board of a Singaporean listed property REIT and works as a mentor for senior executives.
Murray held leadership positions with listed entities Lend Lease, AMP and Jones Lang Lasalle together with large family owned businesses over 10 years in the Middle East and Indonesia. Murray’s roles involved reviewing and driving business strategy and performance through effective leadership, management, succession planning and processes.
Murray has witnessed “three steps ahead”and “in the to hard basket” approaches to business succession planning. The more proactive approach delivered better outcomes. Murray’s passion is to combine his bush roots and leadership and business experience to support current and future generations wishing to continue to participate in agriculture.
Murray now lives between Paddington and Exeter with his two daughters and enjoys executive mentoring, tennis, bushwalking, theatre, rugby and meditation.
